The parish was founded in East Forest Park in 1949 and has grown to include the Holy Cross School. The Holy Cross Parish is open twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week. Mass is celebrated Saturdays at 4 pm and Sundays at 7 am, 9 am, 11 am. Its pastoral staff consists of Father Carrier, Deacon Bill Toller, and Sister Cindy Matthews (Pastoral Minister). The Outreach to the Poor Committee is an example of the faith of the communicants and the support of the Parish's mission. The committee itself supports many ministries. The "Just Faith" social justice program involves parishioners in a thirty-week process on the Gospel call to charity and justice. Holy Cross Parish has a sister parish in Chiapas, Mexico.
