Faith United Church

The spirit of Faith Congregational Church was born in 1894, as a grass-roots Sunday School with a church building following shortly thereafter in the Forest Park neighborhood. The faithful of the Hill section of the city were served by Hope Congregational Church. Both Hope and Faith Churches faithfully served their respective congregations and the surrounding communities for eight decades when due to changing times, cultures, and needs of the community, they decided to merge into one -- Faith United Church in 1977.

Today, through Faith United Church, the population of Forest Park and the greater Springfield area are still served and the missionary zeal of the founders is still alive, reaching out to people around the world.

It is our mission as Faith United Church to be an inclusive congregation of seekers and believers endeavoring to live out faith in God through Jesus Christ. We celebrate our unity through diversity; through word and deed; through mutual love; through concern and support; and through witness and service in the surrounding and world communities.
