The 5th annual Ministry In Community Action Honoree (MICAH) award ceremony held on January 31, 2009 at the Sinai Temple. Thirteen recipients of the awards from PVP's member organizations. Awards honor those individuals or groups who made a difference in within the organization and community.

The Pioneer Valley Project Spring Action is set for Monday, June 1, 2009 from 6:30 - 8:00 at the Greek Cultural Center. We are working to repair Springfield schools and bring hundreds of jobs to Springfield residents through economic stimulus funds. We also are organizing to improve the 911 emergency call system to guarantee Spanish coverage and to ensure fair treatment of immigrants by the police.

We need your help to have a strong turn out for June 1st to get action on these issues from city officials. Our goal is to bring at least 500 people to the Greek Cultural Center.


The Pioneer Valley Youth Center Campaign is a project which will provide daily after-school programming in two of the poorest neighborhoods in Springfield, MA. The program, which will be implemented in conjunction with two area churches, fills a critical gap in youth services.

The parent-teacher home visit program that PVP initiated in 2006 will benefit many new families next year thanks to a $1.25 million, five year "Closing the Achievement Gap" grant that the Springfield Education Association Foundation. Read the history of the home visit project.
